Nashville based Country /garage rock act Raelyn Nelson Band, have released a new single and video for their song titled “Mama Cry.” The song is a described as a rollicking “punk’try” tune, which was co-written with the Raelyn Nelson Band tour manager, and her little sister.
Basically, Scout and I wrote this tune after she made our mom cry one day. We hate seeing her cry and started singing ‘Why Why Why…does mama gotta cry cry cry?’ Since Scout recently graduated from college, the verses kinda fell into place as the song takes you through leaving childhood behind and chasing dreams.
Earlier this year, Raelyn Nelson Band opened for legendary punk rock act the Decendents, a slot on Willie’s 4th of July Picnic, and a headlining show at the Whisky A Go Go. The band says they are looking forward to releasing some new music.
