If the word “epic” ever needed a living definition, it found one on the stage of Kavka Zappa in Antwerp. This was the much-anticipated tour featuring the amalgamation of unique sounds from Pain, Ensiferum, Eleine, and Ryujin. A cornucopia of styles and influences promised a night that would cover the gamut of metal sub-genres and beyond.
The tour itself commenced in early October and is scheduled to sweep across 16 countries, concluding in November. Pain, the headliners, threw in a pleasant twist by releasing a fresh track aptly named ‘Revolution’ right before hitting the road. Crafted by none other than Peter Tägtgren and his son Sebastian, the song is an introspective look at the muddied waters of news and social media in our current era. Could this new track hint at a forthcoming album? Only time will tell.
Ensiferum, the Folk Metal overlords, are storming stages in celebration of their 8th studio album, ‘Thalassic.’ Adding to the symphony of new releases, Eleine recently unveiled a new record through Atomic Fire Records, not to mention a sprinkling of new songs. Each act, in essence, brings a fresh set of tunes to the stage, making the tour a kind of traveling festival of new music.
For those who attended the concert, the word ‘fantastic’ barely scratches the surface of the experience. Each band poured their essence into their respective sets, creating a layered experience that soared beyond mere auditory enjoyment. If you missed this spectacular night of music, don’t despair.
