Symphonic and Folk Metal singer, Leah, has announced the release of a highly anticipated new album, ‘The Glory And The Fallen’, accompanied by a Kickstarter campaign that was fully funded in an astonishing three hours. This news marks the artist’s triumphant return to the studio, following her acclaimed 2019 release, ‘Ancient Winter’, which was hailed by us as one of the best albums of that year in our year in review list.
‘The Glory And The Fallen’ will showcase a roster of 12 new tracks, promising a fresh wave of Leah’s unique fusion of symphonic metal and folk sounds. Fans can also look forward to a host of guest musicians, further enhancing the richness of the forthcoming album. Adding to the anticipation, an additional version of the album has been announced, featuring arrangements of the tracks in a more ambient, non-metal style.
The album is currently slated for release in late January 2024. While the Kickstarter campaign has already reached its goal, fans and supporters can still contribute and be part of this exciting project at the provided link.
Leah has brought together a talented team to craft this new masterpiece. All the songs are written by Leah herself. The mixing and mastering processes have been entrusted to Tom Müller of Flatliners Studio. Production duties have been handled by Oliver Philipps, who also worked on vocal arrangements alongside Leah. The stunning artwork and layout for the album have been designed by Giannis Nakos.
Contributing their talents on the album are a lineup of accomplished musicians: Leah McHenry leading with vocals and keys; Timo Somers on guitars and bass; Sander Zoer on drums; Oliver Philipps enhancing the sound with orchestrations, programming, additional keyboard, and guitars. Noteworthy guest appearances include Mark Jansen’s harsh vocals on ‘Sleeping Giant’ and the bonus version of ‘Unshakable’, as well as Dagda (Celtibeerian) adding violin layers to ‘Victory,’ ‘Dream Voyage,’ and ‘No More Fear’.
Leah’s daughters – Elektra, Victory, and Geneva – join their mother on vocals for ‘Unshakable’, while Oliver Philipps and Timo Somers lend their voices to ‘Victory’. Adding to the sonic diversity, ‘Revive’ features vocals from Syr.
