Judas Priest will officially be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 20 22. The heavy metal icons will be receiving the Musical Excellence Award which will be honoring acts such as Dolly Parton, Lionel Richie, Pat Benatar, Duran Duran, Carly Simons, and Eurythmics. This comes after the band has appeared on the ballot three times.
This award specifically is for those artists who have had an impact on the music-making process and creating music in general. The members who are being inducted include the God of heavy metal himself, Rob Halford, Ian Hill, Glenn Tipton, Scott Travis, K.K. Downing, Les Binks, and the late Dave Holland.
On being inducted the band commented:
