Combining her her artistic and cinematic flair, Swedish artist and filmmaker Jonna Jinton has unveiled her latest single, “The Frozen Call”. This new single is a tribute to winter’s grandeur, about the essence of the colder season. “The Frozen Call” is an homage to the period that winter brings.
During these darker months, Jinton’s music becomes a conduit for reflection, breathing space, and a much-needed reset for the soul. It’s a time when the world slows down, and her new works provides the perfect backdrop for us this cold season.
The track is from her album ‘Songs & Callings’, set for release on February 7th, 2024. The album will showcases Jinton’s unique artistic vision, and also her ability to blend her own themes with a deep understanding of nature’s rythems. The album will be released via By Norse, which, of course, is milestone in her career, as it brings her enchanting music to a broader audience.
About the song, she comments:
The Frozen Call found its roots in a moment of pure inspiration, drawn from the enchanting soundtrack of the movie “Frozen 2”, where the Norwegian singer Aurora Aksnes is doing an ethereal calling sound that reminded me of ”kulning”, the ancient Nordic herding call.
This sparked a creative fire within me, leading to the birth of a composition that celebrates the spirit of winter.
In the heart of my song lies the belief that the darkest and coldest months of the year acts as a spiritual call to us all. Winter, in its essence, is a whispering spirit, urging us to pause, to listen, and to observe the beauty which can be found even in the harshest conditions and in the darkest of times.
