Swedish heavy metal icons Sabaton has embarked on a unique mission to bring history to worldwide museums through their charity initiative, “History Rocks.” At the heart of this project lies the global premiere of their new animated film, “The War To End All Wars – The Movie,” which will be screened by participating museums aroundArmistice Day on November 11, 2023.
“History Rocks” seeks to raise awareness about the significance of history and encourage more people to visit local museums. Museums of all sizes are invited to host the premiere of Sabaton’s new movie at no cost, provided they have the necessary facilities and audio-visual equipment.
Pär Sundström, Sabaton’s manager and bass player, is passionate about the project and its potential impact. He explains that the band aims to inspire people to appreciate the importance of preserving and learning from history by infusing it with entertainment and adrenaline. Sundström emphasizes that museums have been essential to the band’s growth and understanding of history, and they hope to spark a similar curiosity in others.
Several museums have already confirmed their participation in the global premiere, including The Tank Museum in the UK, Arsenalen in Sweden, Aeroseum in Sweden, and Michigan’s Military Heritage Museum in the US. More museums are expected to join in the coming weeks.
The War To End All Wars – The Movie,” developed in partnership with Yarnhub Animation Studios, features songs from Sabaton’s 10th studio album and tells the stories of World War I. The film, which will be released in English with multilingual subtitles, aims to help viewers better understand the album’s songs and the historical events they describe.
“History Rocks” will take place within the two weeks surrounding November 11, 2023, commemorating the end of World War I. Sabaton is calling on fans to share the project with their local museums and join in on this unprecedented initiative to extend their passion for history to a global audience.
