Today we bring you the exclusive premiere from Anne Elise Hastings and Her Revolving Cast of Characters, with their song,”Twice Married Twice Divorced.” The track is the first single off Anne’s upcoming sophomore album, Unmasking a Confidence Trickster, which is going to be released on February 25th, 2022.
The song is based around a scenario playing out in your mind about being able to put your foot down, and rejecting someone that did you wrong, with a litany of reasons as to why. Given the season and how the “holiday” of airing all of one’s grievances, ‘Festivus,’ is right around the corner, it’s a fitting and appropriate lead single from the band.
Anne comments by saying:
This song is a fantasy of finally being the one to reject the person who hurt me countless times. It’s a laundry list of all the things they did wrong, and letting them know what a mistake they made in letting me go. It was very therapeutic to write, because I finally discarded the image I’d created of this person, and realized what was behind that illusion wasn’t all that great.
You can also check them out at the New Orleans Bar, Carnaval Lounge, from 6-8pm on Saturday, and you can keep up with any other shows by following them on social media.

Unmasking a Confidence Trickster is the sophomore album of the New Orleans based alt-country band, Anne Elise Hastings and her Revolving Cast of Characters. It has the twang and attitude of old school country, but introduces a more modern edge that demonstrates their broad scope of influences. This album shows a vast range in emotion and tone. One moment, Anne Elise will channel her Great Grandmother, telling her love story.
Another she’ll be viciously angry at a heinous ex or consumed by a crippling depression. The collection aims to break down the image that people have created for themselves, unveiling the con artist we all have within. No one is a hero, not even the writer herself.
