In the vibrant music scene of San Antonio, Texas, a fresh voice is emerging, carving out a distinctive niche with a blend of thoughtful, reflective lyrics and harmonious piano tunes. Meet Cross Mendoza, a singer-songwriter whose artistic flair will soon be rapidly grabbing attention. Mendoza’s debut track, “M A D,” marks a major milestone on his musical journey, showcasing his talent for crafting emotionally resonant songs, along with a creative video, and it all started with a school project.

“M A D” is a song that delves into the themes of heartbreak and the path to self-discovery. Accompanied by a music video, which is now available on YouTube, the track is a vivid portrayal of Mendoza’s great artistic vision. This debut not only introduces Mendoza’s musical style, but also allows listeners to connect through his storytelling. Which, of course, is something we at Folk N Rock are all big on.

Mendoza’s journey into music is definitely an interesting one, much like his new track. Currently an audio recording student, he found an opportunity to blend his academic pursuits with his passion for music. The creation of the “M A D” music video began as a school project, which quickly turned into a full-fledged artistic endeavor. Despite having limited resources, Mendoza embraced the challenge, immersing himself in the process of music video production. This hands-on experience allowed him to learn various aspects of video making, ensuring that the final product was an accurate reflection of his artistic intent. This is truly DIY and artistic creation at its finest.

It’s amazing to be here right from the start to witness an artist take the reins in songwriting and performance while also exploring the realms of audio recording and music video production. It really showcases his dedication and creativity.

Mendoza’s entry into the music world with his debut single “M A D” marks him as a noteworthy newcomer. His skillful combination of deeply felt lyrics and engaging melodies adds an unmistakable voice to the musical arena. Cross is an emerging artist with the potential to make a huge impact, so be sure to keep him on your radar.
