We’re now just weeks away from the release of Sea Glass, the third full-length solo album from award-winning musician and longtime favorite of ours, Candice Night. Set for release on April 25, 2025 via earMUSIC, this record marks a long-awaited return to her solo work—one that’s been over a decade in the making.
Of course, Candice has never been far from the spotlight. Whether enchanting audiences as the voice of Blackmore’s Night, or through her previous solo albums, she’s always managed to bring something uniquely magical and timeless to the table. But when I sat down to talk with her, there was one simple reason she gave for finally releasing Sea Glass now: she finally had the time.
Between life, motherhood, and everything in between, carving out space for a solo project isn’t always easy. And as she explained during our conversation, it had to feel right. This time, it clearly did, and even more special is the fact that her children actually join her on one of the songs, bringing things full circle from her lullaby-inspired past release to this open-hearted collection.
The album’s title, Sea Glass, is a lens for the themes within. As Candice described, the title reflects how life is experienced, shifting pieces, fragments of joy and struggle, all colored by memory, time, and perspective. After all, life is not always about polished perfection, but about the worn, weathered, beautiful pieces that life hands us, shaped by love, loss, and growth.
We talked about everything—from the emotional weight behind the album to the technical side, including her decision to re-record a rock version of her lead single Angel and Jezebel. That track, with its themes of duality and the ever-present push and pull of light and shadow, became a centerpiece for the album’s emotional framework. And then there’s The Last Goodbye, a beautiful new single that just received a full video release. The track features none other than her husband and longtime musical partner, Ritchie Blackmore, providing guitar work.
Candice has always had a gift for straddling the worlds of fantasy and real life, of making the personal feel so connected to her fans, and Sea Glass is no exception. This album feels lived-in and deeply personal, yet you will come to fill your own experiences through it.
The full-length interview is now live on our YouTube channel, where we go even deeper into the stories behind the songs, what it’s like working with family, and what’s next for Candice. Be sure to check it out, and don’t forget to subscribe while you’re there.
