Kalandra have always been a unique voice in alternative folk, and soon we will be hearing more from them. The band is set to release their new album, “A Frame of Mind,” on September 13th, 2024, through By Norse Music. We recently spoke with Katrine and Jogeir, about their busy summer festival season and the upcoming record. Our conversation covered a range of topics, starting with their recent performances from this summers festival season.
As we talked, we explored the various sources of inspiration behind Kalandra’s distinctive style. From mythology to the wide range of emotions from personal experiences, the band pulls from a diverse array of influences. These combine to create their characteristic sound, as they take an artistic approach that blends multiple influences and styles. With “A Frame of Mind” soon to be released, we asked what we can expect from this latest work. Katrine and Jogeir offered some wonderful insights into the album’s themes, musical direction, and the creative process that shaped it.
The excitement extends beyond the album release. Kalandra is preparing for a large tour. Beginning in the fall, the band will promote the release across Europe and the United Kingdom. You can check out the full list of dates below.
